    Should Syracuse Start Tommy DeVito?

    Tommy DeVito is a four-star quarterback who signed with Syracuse on April 16, 2016. After red shirting one year with the team, the young quarterback believes that he is ready to be the starting quarterback.
    During his time as a redshirted freshman, DeVito was able to learn the new hurry up offense that Syracuse coach, Dino Babers, had started. With three other quarterbacks on the team, one of which is last year’s starter, senior Eric Dungey, DeVito told Syracuse.com that he understands that coaches make the final decision on who starts and who does not.
    However, Dino Babers should seriously consider giving DeVito a chance to prove himself. We have seen freshman quarterbacks prove themselves at the college level time and time again. The most recent time was the 2018 NCAA Championship. Alabama’s quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, won the championship for the Crimson Tide on a dime of a pass. Now, Tagovailoa and DeVito have more in common than you think.
