Interesting that TT would be that close to taking Mixon in the 2nd round but eschew Perine in the 4th. hmm

I think TT deserves a tremendous amount of credit for growing into the GM position. I think everyone agrees the last two drafts have been very good for the Chargers and I do believe TT has learned to be a little more patient and let things fall to him. With that being said I have no doubt he as trying to peddle his 4th to the Packers and other teams in front of the Chargers to move up to acquire Lamp.

Thankfully everyone said no and things worked out great for the Chargers.

I agree. And maybe he learned patience in this draft.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Speaking of Beathard, take a look at the Bears draft.

He took a risk there. Packer's really need guards. Lost 2 pro bowlers in the past 2 yr.

Beathard has been to 7 Superbowls and built our only Super Bowl team. While he did make some strange trades at times it is hard to question his overall body of work.

Yep. The salary cap and modern free agency were his undoing. He did build quite a few good teams prior

I feel like the title is misleading. Nowhere does it say Lamp was 'prioritized' over Mixon. You have someone on your board with a mid-late 1st round grade in Lamp and then someone that I have to imagine was not in their 1st round cluster in Mixon. It's just a case of following your board, fortunately with the top player available being at a position of need. Saying Mixon was on their board just means they were willing to draft him at some point in time.
