Its just a personal gut feeling but i actually think Telesco is fine with our OTs and feels that Lamp coming back will really help the interior. I still think we are in need of RT and C. But we were pretty solid in pass protection. I know Rivers was part of that....but once he started dropping back that extra step the week prior to the Dallas game the pass pro got better. Pulley can hopefully get better and i expect Feeney to continue to get better. We may end up going OL early but i just wouldnt be surprised if Telesco felt like we can continue to get better with the players we have and Lamp coming in. I guess we will see. I couldnt pass up a Payne/James combo. I really wanted Hurst/James though.

Imagine that 3rd round pick i gave up being Lamp. 3 new starters and 3 upgrades is pretty solid for an already good team. Plus we will most likely get a kicker. And at least one new starter in FA. This team could go into next season with 5 new starters. Maybe even 6 if Mike Williams earns the #2 spot.

Sign Zack Brown MLB and possibly even Poe. We have the capital if we let guys walk. Like Liuget.
            Sign Janikowski or Sturgis PK

            1. James S
            2. Payne DT
            3. Lamp OG

Some may think too early but 4th rounder could be Carlson the Kicker out of Aub. Certainly a position thats cost us dearly. Would really love to just get a 10+ year guy and be done with it.

Starting to see DT Tim Settle popping up in first and second round mock drafts now. I like this kid.

Drafting Derwin James in round 1, Settle in round 2, Rasheem Green in round 3, and a RB in round 4, and cutting Liuget and signing C Ryan Jensen with his money, and signing McCown as backup QB would improve the team in many areas. Boston will be too costly to bring back to me. The secondary will have a lot of salary tied up without Boston.

If James isn't there at 17, then Payne, Settle in round 2, a big S in round 3, and RB in round 4.

Settle is kinda raw, but he has the tools to be great. The thing you have to like is that even though he has similar tools to Vea, I like him better in a lot of ways because his first step is always going forward. Sometimes he takes on a man, and sometimes he attacks a gap, but he always goes forward, before reading the block. Vea waits for the OL to block, then reads it and sheds. You never see NFL DL waiting to get off the ball and get upfield, even if they are 2 gapping.

The downside is that Settle is still kinda raw. He doesn't use his hands very well and gets pushed around by OL a lot because of it. He will also over penetrate a lot. He gets tired and plays high when he does.

Settle made a big mistake coming out when he did. He is going to be drafted mostly on his potential, not his production. BUt I think he shows more of what he has to work with and is closer to being ready than Vea is.

The other thing to keep in mind with guys as big as Vea and Settle, they aren't going to be in on 80% of the defensive snaps. You are talking 50% max. Both need to improve their conditioning, but even if they do, big fast guys like them are going to tire quickly. It takes a lot of energy to run around for a whole game.

Pretty much spot on. He just waited for a draftable grade and jumped. He has a high ceiling but he came out early. My concern is he will do just enough to get by. The talent is there not so sure about the drive. When he wants it he is a beast.

I wonder compared to Hurst who would be more effective at 3T. Bosa or Hurst? Is there any scenario where Bosa could see much more time inside and we draft another pass rusher?

                    Sign Poe...Draft Davenport.

                    Davenport....Poe.....Bosa.....Ingram.
