I think he helps us. A lot. But so would a DL that can penetrate, play the run and collapse the middle of the pocket. So would a top edge rusher. Again, it all depends on our clusters and how the board unfolds.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

IMO A great DL can make a Lb look much better than he is. If the DL is a pylon jack lambert and singletary would look like shit.

So It would seem that you would draft the position with the greatest falloff between rounds first while trying to have the D line with the best talent overall when you are done

I agree with using that strategy sometimes... Here though, if Payne's there I take him.

I'd also love to get some OL help in Rd.2-3 though.

I read that one big problem with the run defense was that Kyle Emanuel was terrible at backside pursuit. Who in the second round can set the edge and also provide better backside pursuit?

              I like picks 1 and 2....

Pick 3 is a big reach. Love the traits but very inexperienced. Could be had rd 5 or beyond in this deep Safety class i think.

Pick 5 could very well go undrafted....even in such a top heavy RB class.

pick 6. I dont see him having a position to play in the nfl. Too small for interior and not athletic enough to play elsewhere. Not on my radar at all. Doesnt have high upside traits to invest a development spot for him

Pick 7. Very raw, but strong developmental traits. Perfect type of 7th rd pick.

Solid opinions. But I see #3, Tarvarius Moore, as an uber athletic FS with very high upside. I can't beleive he doesn't go by end of round 3. Mataafa, very high risk, but a tough guy you want in a locker room and on special teams. Willaims at rb? Who knows, they make it or they don't, you really can't tell until they play at the pro level.

Welcome to the Powder Blues. This was F21's 2018 draft, he'll come out with one for 2019 for sure.
