I know everyone is pretty pleased with him, but I am amazed at the roster overhaul in just 2 offseasons.
Granted we still need help in a few areas, but who doesn't? Nose tackle...maybe another ILB if Te'o doesn't pan out? A center next year, depending on Watt. A consistent RG pending again what happens with Watt/Clary (if he returns)/Troutman. Regardless, I look up and down this team and it is so vastly improved from when Norv/AJ left that it's staggering. I guess when you hit on every draft pick, undrafted rookie and FA signing....you turnaround really, really fast.
Don't want to jinx this team, but I feel like we can truly say this team belongs in the upper echelon of the AFC. Even if we lose to Denver in two weeks I'll still feel the same. Throw our hat in with the likes of Denver, Baltimore, Cincy, New England (not so illustrious anymore), etc. Why not? We were a 3rd and 17 away from probably tying them up last year in the playoffs. I thought this level of transformation wouldn't happen until next year, but I was wrong. And to imagine what will happen when we get healthy.
To have a combo of Mathews/Oliver/DBrown to lean on in the playoffs is such a welcoming thought. Then we can truly play our TOP game to the letter.
"Scary good."
