Makes sense in many ways, as a change of pace back who can catch. As an Aztec alum, I'd like to have Ronnie Hillman, but to be honest, not much different, other than familiarity with Wiz.

But, but, he didn't play for the Colts. I would like this signing.

I don't recall DM fumbling nearly as much as Hillman.

Well, McCluster is much more proven as a receiver but I agree Hillman would've been nice as well. I'm actually excited about McCluster. This is the best offense he's ever been in, and I think Rivers will really like him on third downs. I think he's more explosive than Woodhead tbh.

              From Bolt From The Blue:

Whisenhunt signed McCluster in his first offseason as the Head Coach of the Tennessee Titans and got good usage out of him for two seasons. Here’s what he did as the team’s 3rd down RB last year:

              55 rushes, 247 yds (4.5 YPA), 1 TD
              31 catches (41 targets), 260 yards (8.4 YPC), 1 TD
9.0 yards per punt return, 21.9 yards per kick return

              Decent signing IMO

Can he be an effective punt returner?

McCluster is probably about the best signing we could make - decent 3rd down back familiar with Whiz's offense.

Hope he replaces Benjamin as punt returner. We can't expose him to injury back there.

yeah, he made the pro bowl as a punt returner couple years ago. Wouldn't be the worst idea to take Benjamin off that unit.

Whalen is another player that can return punts and kicks.
