I'm not ready to write off Benjamin yet. Sure, he was really bad in stretches, but he had some times when he look decent. He is really behind because Johnny Football and the rest of the Browns QB couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. Now he has a real QB, he just needs to stay on the field. plus, he really is one of the fastest WR in the NFL. He is back into the role that really fits him. He was not ready to be a #2 WR. Now he is back into being a part time guy, he can just stretch the field and refine his route running.

The Jets just cut the savior the Giants need By Steve Serby
June 6, 2017 | 8:38pm
David Harris came within 60 minutes of the Super Bowl in January 2010 and January 2011.
He deserved a better ending to a Ring of Honor Jets career than the one that was awaiting him anyway.
And then, just like that, after the media is escorted out of the locker room, you are informed that you are no longer a Jet You are 33 years old and naturally a step slower, but there was plenty of time in the offseason to reach agreement on negotiations aimed at reducing $6.5 million non-guaranteed salary. And talks break down NOW?
A tank-for-the-memory move with all eyes clearly focused on the Quarterback Class of 2018.
Yet one more cruel reminder that loyalty in the NFL is rarely a two-way street. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.
Build Back Better.

But he was very well compensated with large guarantees. Who were the Bolts stars that were used abused and discarded? Weddle?? He of the top paid safety in football before his performance dictated it? Or the over 30 LT at rb? Careers are short. Any non QB over 30 should never be surprised (or fan) when they are let go.

he could be talking about Rodney Harrison- but he went public and said "I'm not giving back a damn dime of salary" and refused to get his body in shape to stay on the field or even run when out there. Or maybe he meant Seau- but he went public and demanded a trade when the focus of the defense wasn't built around him anymore after he too was playing hurt all the time. Or LoNeal, LT... or maybe all the way back to Klein's ownership with JJ, Dean, Fouts, Winslow... who knows? It's not always a 1 way street like some people portray.

If he has a grip on his fumbles Ryan Mathews might be an upgrade as backup to MG. I doubt he would come back here. But hes from so cal. And has a passion for motocross etc. Im sure he may think hard about being close to home to finish out his career. There is no denying his YPC avg. He is set to be released.
