He flat dicked his boss and got shown the door. Should have learned from it and moved on but his ego actually makes him think he was slighted.

He also posted some list that had him rated as the best safety in football...real "quality" guy, super humble. He is also playing for a team that butt-fucked another city (Cleveland), so he has no idea what he is saying.

I can remember the whole world laughing when the Bolts resigned him to what everyone thought was a stupid contract. He did play up to the contract but he can't say the Bolts didn't show faith in laying out the money.

The Bolts draft Mixon, I 'm becoming a Raven's fan. Any way you look at it, it's a substantial upgrade in ownership.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Fuck the Ravens and Weddle too. Ain't gonna happen. Their best player in their history is Ray Lewis - good on the field but a pile off it.

Supporting the team that used to be the Cleveland Browns seems an odd reaction to Not supporting the Chargers for moving 90 minutes up the road. Green Bay not owned by a billionaire or likely to up ship. Just saying.

In the expansion after the Colts left Baltimore in the middle of the night in a snowstorm, the NFL had an expansion. Baltimore had the best expansion proposal but the NFL put teams in Jacksonville and Charlotte instead. The commissioner, (I believe it was Tagliabue) told Baltimore, "You are never getting another NFL team." That is worse than that fuckhead telling SD you are never getting another Super Bowl until you build a new stadium

So Baltimore went out and stole the Cleveland franchise. So fuck Tagliabue and fuck the NFL.

And Cleveland got a new expansion team right away. But Baltimore wasn't worthy of one? So again, fuck Tagliabue and fuck the NFL.

Oh, and Jacksonville is the next franchise to move.

                        Flashback Friday
                        Tagliabue Couldn’t Stop Baltimore!

                        Kenny Miller @bakerspazing
Posted July 31, 2015 in Flashback Friday

Former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue conspired against the city of Baltimore during the NFL Expansion in 1993.

The NFL was set to add two teams to the league who would begin play starting in the 1995 season. Tagliabue, a former Washington D.C. lawyer, was in cahoots with then owner of the Washington Redskins, Jack Kent Cooke. Cooke was upset with the possibility of having another team in his market and threatened to move the team to Laurel, MD in order to prevent the city of Baltimore from getting a team.

Jack Kent CookeTagliabue and Cooke were long-time BFFS, and Tagliabue was able to persuade the NFL owners to reject Baltimore in favor of Jacksonville during the expansion vote all in an attempt to protect Cooke and the Redskins’ market.

A lot of what you just read is borderline hearsay with very little documented proof to back up the claims. But think about it. Why did the NFL owners vote to reject Baltimore and in favor of Jacksonville?

Let’s go through what we DO KNOW, shall we?

The Colts left Baltimore in the dead of the night and headed to Indianapolis nine years prior to the 1993 expansion vote. It remains the only team relocation in NFL history to not be league-approved. Then came the expansion.

Two new teams were coming into the league, and a vote was to be made in late 1993. The city of Carolina got one of those teams. The other was to be decided between Baltimore and Jacksonville after St. Louis dropped out of the running late.

Let’s crunch some numbers and look at the mathematics, here.

Jacksonville had a population of 943,500, which made it the nation’s 55th largest metro area in the country. The Baltimore area was home to 2.43 million people and the 22nd largest market. Baltimore also had a rich football history to boot going back to the Johnny Unitas days that essentially made the NFL what it is today. Remember “The Greatest Game Ever Played”?

So Baltimore was a no-brainer, right?

                        Nope.

Instead, the NFL gave the proverbial ball to Jacksonville and their old stadium and ownership group that had actually quit the expansion race just a few months prior before re-entering. Baltimore had the funds and was able to pledge a much better stadium package than what Jacksonville could then provide. It wasn’t a close vote, either.

Yet the NFL owners voted 26-2 in favor of Jacksonville.

How does something like that happen?

Where is the logic behind this decision?

It really does all go back to Tagliabue and Cooke. There is no other logical explanation.

When asked about the decision, Tagliabue told Baltimore to “build a museum” with their proposed stadium funds. Talk about a slap in the face to a city where the Baltimore Colts Marching Band still existed even though the team didn’t.

Here is what Maryland Governor William Donald Schaefer had to say on the matter:

“There were two sets of rules–one for Baltimore and one for everyone else. I just wish they would have been honest and told us we didn’t have a chance right from the beginning, instead of having us work really hard for nothing.”

Tagliabue was nothing more than a scumbag toolbox that let his personal affairs cloud his judgment.

What a guy. And quite the “visionary” too.

Jaguars fan“There was a strong feeling that Jacksonville is a hotbed of football interest, a feeling that the Southeast is the fastest-growing part of the country and that the NFL, even with a team in Charlotte, is under-represented in the Southeast,” Tagliabue pontificated in 1993.

Hope you’re wearing boots after reading that…

Funny how things work out though, isn’t it? Baltimore got a team a year after Jacksonville started play. Baltimore has gone on to win two Super Bowls and has made the playoffs 10 times. The Jaguars have only reached the playoffs twice since 1999 and have only one playoff win in the last 15 seasons.

The Jaguars struggle to sell out week after week. The Ravens have sold out 157 straight games. Oh, and the Ravens beat the Redskins 20-17 in their first ever meeting in Washington in 1997.

Too bad Cooke died earlier that year. I would have loved for him to have lived to see that.

The city of Baltimore certainly got what they deserved: The Ravens, Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, Brian Billick, The best single-season defense of all-time, Ed Reed, T-Sizzle, John Harbaugh, elite quarterback Joe Flacco, and two Super Bowl Championships in 19 seasons.

                        Justice served!

Despite the efforts of a dirty lawyer…
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

First NFL game I ever saw in person was San Diego at Baltimore Colts in Memorial Stadium. The stadium was a dump and the fans weren't too great either. This not that far removed from the Unitas years. You can almost spit from Redskins locker room and hit Baltimore. Ok maybe being a little exagerattive there but you get the point. You have to go from Maryland all the way down east coast to Atlanta to get to another team and there was certainly a mid-Atlantic cluster. Charlotte made sense. I would have looked at Birmingham Al or San Antonio before Baltimore or Jax
