I think it is going to be this, at least initially:

Okung, Slauson, Pulley, Wiggins/Lamp split, Barksdale.

I am hoping the new staff is not into swapping guards like the McCoy regime did. But I can see them easing Lamp in, unless the light really comes on for Lamp in preseason and they are comfortable with him playing next to Pulley. Wiggins is very limited, but he is scrappy and has experience and keeps hanging around.

It sure seems like we have Okung, Slauson and Pulley as the likely left and middle. I really hope Lamp gets a real shot at the RT position. It would just make the most sense for the next few years since we have Feeney (clearly a guard) and Tuerk (still a complete unknown but could be guard or center if he can progress with some play time) that can compete for the guard and maybe center positions. That would give Feeney a real shot at the RG position this year to get his playing time. I think they all need to earn it but I just think we lack true Tackles and I think Lamp could fit that well.

I do feel at least we aren't talking about complete scrubs or FA reaches now on the OL. It was time to invest on strong OL candidates and I love what Lamp and Feeney can bring if they live up to expectations. I'm hoping Tuerk just needs practice with real people again (he's been out for near 1.5 years since playing a real game) and his athletic gifts will come out through camp. Should be a real competition of young talent now. Lets hope our new OL coaches and Lynn can get this unit ready for Denver week 1....that will be a good test.

I'm another guy who would like to see Lamp get a shot at RT. If he's got the feet to play RT, it's a reduced use of his talent to play G.

Not a Pulley fan? And we needs Slauson's experience, leadership and attitude on the line somewhere. Feeney, Tuerk, Clark and Lamp are all in show me mode. No way I'd put all 4 of them out there at the same time.

I like pulley. I was just asking what everyone would think of that line. Clark was playing really good last year until he went down. He's a good mauler and run blocker. Lamp is so versatile he could play anywhere. It was more of a curious question on what people think that line up could do

All comments from Rivers so far is he's really happy with the 2 vets on his left side- you can pretty much lock in Okung & Slauson. Pulley is getting good pub, so OC probably comes down to him or Tuerk if he can take the job in TC and preseason games. RG will probably be the only real mystery going into preseason and they'll probably stick with Barfsdale for another year for vet presence on right side and hope he has more dedication and fire with the new staff and Okung's attitude pushing him.

I keep coming back to the same question, where's the ghost Tuerk?

Feeney should be getting all the first team reps at RG starting now.

The psychology of our o-line seems to be this...If Rivers is in there we better protect him. Don't worry about the run. Just protect Rivers. If Rivers isn't in then who cares.
