I also wonder how much the OL relies on Rivers calling out protections and blitzes to them. They seemed to be just standing and waiting for defenders to come hit them. Probably didn't help that plays outside the tackles were almost nonexistent.

It probably didn't help that NO game planned to blitz and the Bolts didn't game plan to blitz protect. Let's keep this vanilla.

F21...i agree that probably doesnt help (us not preparing for blitz packages). They do need to work on blitz protect though unless you think they might be giving something away by doing so? Definitely shows we arent sitting well right now with our starting tackles out. Losing Burwell didnt help.

I am all for a rent an OL if there is a team dropping a vet due to salary. We need a real RG if one of our young guys cant step up. Teams will just keep going after that weakness until we slide support over to it. I realize this may be a situation where it takes a young group a month of real gamesto fine tune and gel before they really get on the same page. We have seen that before....it just takes time for an OL to develop and with the line not set (Lamp dropping) we havent had the time to get very ready. Hoping we would come out faster than that but we may just have to expect struggle till the young center and RG and medicre RT come together.

im not throwing in the towel. Anthony is going to ffocus on this ...pretty sure as a run expert he recognizes whete there is an issue right now.

anyone care to revise this list now?

Fouts said during the broadcast, and I remember this being true, that he had the same starting 5 OL seemingly forever. It was one of the keys of the success of the Air Coryell teams.

Gold star to anyone who can quickly name those 5 starters without looking at the answer below..................

                  Russ Washington
                  Doug Wilkerson
                  Don Macek
                  Ed White
                  Billy Shields

ok, now name the healthy starting 5 they count on for this season. that was where I was headed with revising the list after injuries knocked guys out. Clark must be wearing the invisible man uniform as I'm not reading anything about him getting significant playing time.

Seattle added another OL option after finishing practice Monday by trading for Matt Tobin from Philadelphia in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2018. Seattle also received a seventh-round pick next year from the Eagles.

Seattle also lost their starting LT in the last preseason game. He is gone for the season -- knee. They HAD to make a deal.

I think we need to keep them all. Just for injury protection.

I hear you. But are the guys in the third column worth keeping? Or are we better off signing someone off the street during the season if injuries strike?

Clark and Tevi to the PS. The others are just bodies, Clark and Tevi at least have potential.

Tuerk suspended, Unbelievable. Another hole on the twos that doesn't look possible to fill right now.
