    Merriman advice to rookies

    Real advice should be:

    1. Do steroids
    2. Excel at football
    3. Get a big contract
    4. Serve your suspension
    5. Make lame excuses why your gonna suck when your back
    6. Suck for the rest of your football career
    7. Retire a disgraced but wealthy man

        I hope you all hate Gates as much as Merriman since he tested positive and was suspended for Steroids as well.

          Merriman FORGOT to tell Gates to hit the weight room after taking the steroids, that guy still looks like a basketball player.

                People seem to forget he had his knee taken out by Tennessee. Pre-roids he was a beast but he was still a good player until Mawea (?) cut his knees.

              Avoid being forced to play special teams in preseason. That's where he suffered the knee injury that led to problems years later.

                No it wasnt. It as the Hit Jeff Fisher called on Merriman after he hit Vince Young. Regardless, he can give sound advice whether or not fans here want to post bitter responses or not.Coincidently, it was also against Fishers team that Gates got the toe injury that messed him up for a couple seasons.

                I don't know how to reply within a reply, but regarding Merriman taking the hit to the knee by Fisher, that was the final nail but in his rookie year he took a hit on special teams in Minnesota and had to be taken out with a knee injury, I believe it was an MCL. He was ready by week 1 but he never got it taken care of and during the year he kept putting off the surgery (which effectively ended his career) they talked about the injury he sustained as a rookie as well.
