The Seahawks have signed Kyle Coleman to fill a spot created on the 90-man roster when the team waived cornerback Jamal Marshall on Wednesday.
(Coleman was also listed by NFLDraftScout.com as a fullback).
However, Coleman also playedMonte Colemanthis story from last fall that he weighed more than 240 pounds when playing linebacker at Arkansas State before switching to offense for his final season last year at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Coleman had 10 catches for 117 yards last season.

Kyle was originally viewed pre-draft as a hybrid SS / coverage LB. The problem was when he got to the NFL he lacked the speed and quickness to play as a coverage LB. He lacks the speed, i.e. range to play SS. Seattle converted him to FB in an attempt to find a place for him. Kyle is a marginal NFL prospect and it remains to be seen if he can play as an ILB at this level. Again my issue with him is as a hybrid type player he may be able to play many positions but generally players like him are never particularly good at any of them. The Charger's continue to bring in slow players, ignoring how the NFL is trending faster. That's the problem with Addae, he's too slow to play SS giving him marginal range and no coverage ability. Addae is too small to play LB as well. I'd be surprised and disappointed if Kyle makes this roster. He would need to be a standout ST's player to do so IMO.

He's Monte Coleman's son. Monte was a starting OLB for the Redskins under Gibbs, and then became a role player towards the end of the Gibbs era as his career ran down. Still played a lot of downs in sub packages and on ST when the Redskins won their last SB. He is the current the Arkansas pIne bluff HC. Don't know about Gary Coleman thing.
I saw somewhere that even though he was listed at 228-230lb, his playing weight was around 240lb.
As far as the Chargers bringing in slow players, if every team is looking for faster guys, then all you are left with is a few fast guys who can't play at all, and slower guys who aren't exactly what you want. Such is the nature of the bottom of the roster. But if the guy can play and can run, he is going to get a lot of interest and go high in the draft.
