Ive Been Saying We Miss Woody

And Sproles. Rivers has always needed these types of RBs. And now it looks like Ekeler is starting to take over that role. In time the offense will open up just because of this one player and his role in this offense.

    Its about fucking time.

Yep, that fumble started the sequence that cost us the game. Hopefully he is mentally tough enough to bounce back from this.

Despite that gaff it looks like he will be able to fill that spot. Which is pretty important. Did Lynn punish him after that by not going back to him?

But that would be the smart thing to do. And we like doing the stupid things.

Rivers would be thriving & we would be contending this year with McCaffrey.

You forget about Chargers curse: McCafe would be on IR already.

Probably not. McCaffery wouldn't fix our major problems. Tackling on D, our inability to make a pocket in pass protection. We have receivers and runners, we just cannot block for them to get the ball to them.

AS much as people are going to knock Eckler, the Jag defender just put the helmet on the ball and knocked it lose. If Eckler had held the ball with both hands, it might not have come loose, but he never carries it like that, so you can hardly blame him for doing what he does on every other play. It was just a lucky hit by the defender.

The big problem in the 2nd half was our inability to stop any blitz or stunt around the A gap. All that progress we thought we saw with Pulley and Feeney, gone. Back to the same sort of deal, anyone coming in kinda off schedule in the play, and we leave a great big hole for the defender to fly through. Rivers had defenders flying through cleanly on every critical situation. It was a problem between Pulley and Slauson, it is still a problem between Pulley and Feeney.

Our defense also needs to stop leaving potential turnovers on the field. How many int did we drop in the first 3 quarters? At least 1 was a pick 6, and that is more than the margin we lost by.

It gets really old watching defenders come flying in untouched play after play.
