Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn announced that Philip Rivers is in the NFL concussion protocol program after an injury suffered against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Rivers isn't cleared by Saturday, Kellen Clemens will get the start against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

If Rivers doesn't play, we'll really see how anemic the offense is and how valuable he is.

Saints just ran like motherfuckers all over the Bills. I guess we'll see what Gordon is made of.

With potentially no Rivers, and then little to no passing threat, I'm not seeing any of the RBs getting any yardage on the ground. Bills D would just stack the line. I hope they can beat the Bills, but would be shocked if they did without Rivers. An L would end the season.

Rivers gonna retire. I don't think he wants to play football long distance like he's doing this season.

Jones will end up getting playing time, see what he's got.

I could see that happening. Maybe it would be a good thing for the team, not to mention for Rivers and family. Rivers and Gates could walk out the door together. It would open up a huge amount of cap too. First round pick would then most likely be a QB, and may need to trade up to get the one we want.

Or on his interception he threw in OT.
Looks like he crowned someone as the pile was at the goal line.
He didn't really get dinged before that.

QB of the future = Cardale Jones. Let Clemens be sacrificial lamb in the 1st half, and if offensive stalls Lynn can change to Jones in 2nd half to "shake things up" and not look like playing favorites for the guy he brought in.

Playing favorites? Ain't that what a coach us supposed to do?

Not sure what the fascination with Jones is, other than he isn't Clemens.

If by QB of the future you mean Cardale Jones is backup QB of the future, then maybe. But I just can't envision him being the starting QB of the future. Buffalo wouldn't have given him away if he was anything special.
