PS, I know it was never a choise between these two players, but Glad we got Freeney 95 and dropped Clown-boy 95.

Freeney has been more productive over his career but Phillips was pretty damn good as well. Apparently the Broncos like Phillips better, Freeney was reportedly on their radar for awhile but they chose Shaun.

Freeney got more productive over the course of the season, Phillips less. Freeney recovered from his ankle injury, Phillips still doesn't seem to be able to push off after he hurt his foot a couple of years ago (midseason injury).

Maybe Phillips foot does recover and he plays back to form, but at his age I don't think it is likely. Freeney is probably going to be much more productive, just because his injury was a lot less serious, and he seems to have recovered.
