    Daniel Carlson.

He was robbed of the Lou Groza award, IMO. I've watched the kid for his entire NCAA career and he WILL BE somebody's long term solution.

Kaser was okay on kickoff. Novak was good in short range kicks. But he has been injured a lot. So if we go that route we should've a kicker in PS at all time.

Yeah, I'd pick Daniel Carlson in the 5th.

I like it. Doesn't mean they have to keep him.

Coming out of college, this guy was the 2nd coming of Janikowski.

He has all the talent in the world. Yes, he struggled big time in the NFL. but it's not as if he's not good, or never been good.

A fresh start, completely across the country, with a new team... give him a chance.

If he sucks during camp, you cut him. At least we aren't sitting on our hands.

Sure does and Novak can't make the longer kicks which is the reason they brought Rose in.

The guy had been good in college level. Never in the pro level. Isn't all busts are like that? That's why I defend Gordon a lot, because he was very good last year, at this level. Until the guy can kick consistently facing NFL speed rush and heavy pressure I will remain skeptical, lol. Plus he's a headcase.

I've heard the argument, that college kicking is harder, because of the wider hashmarks. That could be bunk, but it seems to make sense.

Anyway, not making excuses for him, or anyone. Just a thought.

I believe the football in college is a little smaller than the NFL ball. I think it is a 1/2" shorter(length) and 1" narrower(circumference) Dont know exactly how that could change things for a kicker but something changed this guy. You would think that would effect QBs more.

Janikowski was terrible... now look at him. What we need is good ST coaches.

Janokowski career kicking % is 80.4%
                        Lambo 84.5%

What did Lambo do/say in the locker room? Jesus. And why isn't it keeping the Jags out of the playoffs?

The sweet spot on the ball is a lot smaller on the pro ball than the college. It requires a much greater degree of precision. Any mechanical problems are magnified greatly. They have to hit the smaller sweet spot cleanly, or the ball is just not going to fly that well.

Add into it that college ST happen much more slowly. Most long snappers are a lot slower on the snap, so the kicker has more time in the approach. A lot of college kickers also wait until the ball is almost to the holder before they start their approach. They can be much more relaxed. In the NFL there are a bunch of super quick guys who are coming after most kicks if they think they can get to you. That causes the younger kickers to speed up their motion and that has them making more mechanical errors, which kills the consistency.

Aguayo is not going to get over his issues. Let's not waste any time on him. I say we just keep Novak, train him better. Kick Offs... lets get someone who can do that. Sometimes I even think that a roster spot is worth for a kick-off specialist kicker.

Charged4Life, instead of throwing your arms up in the air do a little google on Lambo and his issues with the Chargers.

Unbelievable. The assistant looks more pissed than a guy who was in the play that lost the game.
