.you very much guys. It means more than you know. Or maybe you do know because you've lost loved ones. In any event she's still alive but she'll be receiving radiation finally in three days .If she's strong enough. Meanwhile, she still doesn't eat. Hasn't for weeks. Very skinny. Her right eye can't close and it stings all the time (due to the operation to remove the cancer). They have her on a feeding tube when she needs it. She can't get out of bed on her own. Obviously weak after not eating for weeks. She still has her sense of humor though. I admire her attitude even in the face of this ongoing crap (that's short for cancer and radiation). I told her it's okay whatever you do (live or die). Told her I was okay with either so don't worry about me.

I didn't notice any dementia but I'm not a doctor. She's just depressed as hell. Who wouldn't be with some of their face chopped off (cancer was in face and throat) and not able to move out of bed. But I don't care how she looks. I was pretty surprised by that. I just didn't care.

I think about all the deaths OIP experienced to his loved ones in a short period of time and marvel at how he was able to persevere. wow. Because watching my Mom wither away is really kicking my ass. BIG time

I'm going to see my Mom for likely the last time tomorrow afternoon in Poway.This kind of impending loss grabs you from the insides and stays there. At least for me so far. Me and Mom didn't even get along very well before her cancer this year but she still represents that safe place for me as a young boy. That is so powerful. That's why I'm not sure how I'll handle it when/if she does finally pass. The Doctor said she could probably take up to five rounds of radiation treatment....anything more would kill her. She's at #3 or #4 as of today. So it appears the end is near. I just don't know how I'll handle it. I hope I can.
