We have lost one of our esteemed long-time Charger fans and one of the original members of my 11-year old fantasy football league called the "Dunn-Edwards Fantasy Football League." .... Last Friday, On June 22nd, Ben Miller, the man that ran the DFFL original fantasy franchise known as "Your Name Here," passed away as a result of complications during a life-saving transfusion operation in San Diego. Ben had been very sick recently, on and off, for more than 7 years, and had suffered from digestion problems and Crohn's disease for most of his adult life. I know that many of you were not fortunate enough to have met Ben in person, and that is another great loss -- Ben always had a sharp wit, and a keen eye for NFL talent, as he was a San Diego Chargers season ticket holder from 1976 to 2011. He knew the game, and he will be sorely missed. Those of you that attended the old "P-3 Parking Lot Tailgate Parties" most likely will remember the 6-foot-2 blonde-haired guy that loved to sit in his director's chair and listen to all of the Charger fan chatter for the three hours leading up to the game itself. He truly loved the Chargers, and he also loved those P-e gigs.
Mad Dog, I can finally answer that age-old question that you continually asked as a joke at P-3 for many years --- "Who the F*** is Ben?" Mike, I finally have your answer... Ben's the guy that's up in Heaven, and is trying like HELL to get that Charger team to the Super Bowl. Ben is survived by his wife, Vickie, his younger brother, Luther, and his older sister, Ann. There's a special place in Heaven for this one. I am blessed for having known you, Ben. Services for Ben are still pending, information will be passed along, once we receive it.
