This is the one thing that will chase me away from football. They get paid that much because it's a violent game. If you don't want to risk injury, find another job. There will always be someone willing to take your place.
Clay Mathews has a legit beef

The BIG problem with the Mathews penalty, was his pressure created a bad throw by Cousins, that was picked off by GB.
Instead, a penalty for a basically clean hit, gave the opponent back the ball, and a first down, and put them in GB's territory.
GB legit lost that game from that call."...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

This rule has gone way too far. I understand that they're trying to protect their cash cows but they're affecting the outcome of games. Matthews got screwed today.
I think we take up a collection and send a box full if skirts to the competition committee. They should just put flags on the QB and treat them like they have a red jersey on all season. No one is making these guys sign the contract. If you don't want to risk injury, don't play.
Also, funny how every back in the league still lowers their head before contract and they're not calling it any more than before the rule.

I think the worst part is that the rule was created to minimize the amount of starting QBs getting injured by such a situation... But exactly how often does a QB get injured by a player landing with most or all of their weight on them compared to something else happening? Is the probability really so high that it warrants such a rule in the first place?
Even if it was 1 QB a year getting injured in such a situation, isn't that just the inherent risk of playing that position?
