  • New kicker signed

Mike Bagdley UDFA rookie out of miami. Draft report not real encouraging to read. Will keep him and Sturgis for now.

This is due to Strugis’ Injury and not his performance. Bagdley was in colts camp and was a final cut. So the Telesco-Colts connection appears again.

I guess Arguayo will never get another chance?

      Quick bio

The Summit, N.J. native was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, hockey, lacrosse) and spent a post-graduate year at Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy. He was Miami’s starting placekicker all four years of his college career, tying school records with a 57-yard field goal and a 5-for-5 performance. He finished 77-for-97 (79.4) on field goals, 172-for-179 (96.1) on extra points, and set a school scoring record with 403 points (tied for fifth all-time in the ACC).

      Scouting report

“Experienced kicker with decent accuracy under 50 yards, but troubling accuracy beyond that mark. Badgley’s inability to hammer kickoffs with consistent leg strength will also hurt his cause.” — NFL.com

After the 2018 NFL Draft ended, Michael Badgley signed with the Indianapolis Colts, according to the Miami Herald. More about the former Miami kicker: Michael Badgley, K Miami Hurricanes 5-foot-10, 183 pounds On tape https://www.youtube.

The 5-10, 183-pound kicker initially signed as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted this past April. He appeared in all four preseason games this summer, making all five field goals, including a long of 51 yards. He also connected on all five extra point attempts.
Moving to LA is not a good business decision, it’s a death sentence.

Kind of hard to bump Vinatieri.

Well, I am too lazy to cut and paste it but if you read the entire scouting report, he has a three step motion that they say will lead to blocks in the NFL, he has limited leg strength and that he is very inconsistent on longer tries and on kickoffs he has very little hang time. However, he did get to work with Vinateri all summer and Vinateri had great things to say about him.

What good player is going to get cut so Sturgis can nurse his quad (which I read might be a few weeks long)?

Well let’s see what he has. If he stops our kicking game from costing us points, I say welcome aboard.

                  It was J.J. Jones.

It's a good thing we have George Stewart coaching our STs.

JJ Jones was a wasted spot, so ok. He only can return kicks so unless the whole team is healthy, he is never going to be active. They can always get him back.

OT but there is a little clip on chargers.com that shows Telesco when he went back to buffalo for the game. He is truly, genuinely a nice man. Pretty rare. Kind of the anti-AJ Smith.

When this all washes out with PS guys getting healthier, my hope is that Travis Benjamin will be gone. King is a decent PR, so other than the speed, TB is kinda expendable.
