The 5-10, 183-pound kicker initially signed as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted this past April. He appeared in all four preseason games this summer, making all five field goals, including a long of 51 yards. He also connected on all five extra point attempts.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Kind of hard to bump Vinatieri.

Well, I am too lazy to cut and paste it but if you read the entire scouting report, he has a three step motion that they say will lead to blocks in the NFL, he has limited leg strength and that he is very inconsistent on longer tries and on kickoffs he has very little hang time. However, he did get to work with Vinateri all summer and Vinateri had great things to say about him.

What good player is going to get cut so Sturgis can nurse his quad (which I read might be a few weeks long)?

                  It was J.J. Jones.

It's a good thing we have George Stewart coaching our STs.

JJ Jones was a wasted spot, so ok. He only can return kicks so unless the whole team is healthy, he is never going to be active. They can always get him back.

OT but there is a little clip on chargers.com that shows Telesco when he went back to buffalo for the game. He is truly, genuinely a nice man. Pretty rare. Kind of the anti-AJ Smith.

When this all washes out with PS guys getting healthier, my hope is that Travis Benjamin will be gone. King is a decent PR, so other than the speed, TB is kinda expendable.
