No, they were firing on all cylinders on defense. They should have took it to over time our second half offense was stale.. But it was smart for us tho. It gave us the W

It was dumb if you believe your team is better.

If you'd rather let everything hinge on one play, you're saying youd rather take 1 swing rather than play it out.

Loved Vrabel's "derp face" after it failed. It looked like he hadn't anticipated it failing.

Btw he's an ass. Never cared for him. Glad his macho man routine blew up in his face.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Chargers still could have won in regulation. Two 20 yard passes, field goal. Done.

I like the aggressiveness. These calls are always not smart when they don't work. But I like what he did.

PFF has an analysis that at the 2, the chance of making it is about 47%, but at the 1, its 53%. I see that most of the pundits said it was the wrong call to do a pass play, vs. a sneak or a rollout pass. I respect the call, but the right move was to go to OT, as they had momentum, IMO.

Then again... Justin Tucker missed his PAT...

Bad decision as there was 31 sec left and we were not out of TOs. Converting the two does not guarantee a win, but failing virtually guarantees a loss without recovering onside, which is much harder with the new KO rules. Just my .02

PAT is not a 100% guarantee (although the Titans have a good kicker)
If they did convert the 2 pt, did a squib kick, the Chargers would have had maybe 20 sec and two time outs left to try and win and would have needed a.....FG
Chargers have a shaky FG kicking situation and the kicker demonstrated a lack of leg all game

I agree with Vrable's logic. Also he sent a message to his team that they heard, even though it didn't pan out. That is going to pay dividends in the future. He showed he believes in them.

He may believe in them, but they were tied for first with the tiebreaker in their division and are now tied for second, out of the playoffs if it ended today. They now also have another AFC loss which could really hurt them later in the tiebreaker. So the gamble backfired badly.

Yep. He might have been thinking his kicker wasn't perfect on the day- and did he really want it to come down to making a PAT just to tie on the road? He also saw 2 explosive long quick strikes from Rivers- including to open the game. Did he really want to give it back to Rivers and his WRs after that? And what if they did got to OT- you need a good coin flip as well as good field position no matter which side of the ball you are on to open OT. What if the Chargers won and Rivers had 4 fresh downs and more time to beat them? Seems like there were more questions out of his control if he did NOT go for 2 to win.

                          Go big or go home.
