No way could you pay Seau that much at that stage of his career. He didn't want to restructure. He was still useful for sure, but not a top 5 LB anymore. it is a business after all. That is what happens at the end of big contracts and past their prime players unfortunately. Same goes for LT. And both are in my top 5 Chargers of all-time.

Weddle made his own bed. He acted like a petulant bitch after having been paid the highest at his position before playing at that level. The Chargers paid him based on faith and were roundly criticized at the time of the contract. Some disprespect. F him and his man crush Acee. He got half the money on the open market that we would have had to pay him.

Weddle is entitled to feel however he wants, the team moved on from him, so that's his prerogative.

However, wasn't he the one after the first meeting, or maybe before the first meeting who said something along the lines, that the organization was dead to him after the move, or something like that? He was a San Diego kid, and a San Diego Charger, but no respect for the team or what not?

I mean the organization did draft you, and pay you well for like 7 seasons or something... just a bit low class. But whatever. He's at home this week.

Weddle has lots of time to complain now. He surprisingly admited we outplayed them vs it was all the Ravens fault. At least he didnt sound butthurt after the game media comments I read.

he handled himself poorly due to his emotions...needs to learn to keep it in check to not sound petty...which he really was. Hes fine when things are going his way....but when it isnt he loses composure.

Having a right to be upset is one thing, holding a grudge is another thing entirely.

Seau and LdT made amends, and it seems Weddle isn't sore about it either (and Tomlinson had more of a reason than any of the names you've mentioned)

Holding a grudge is just ugly.

Here's my grudge -- Seriously. I refused to go to see the first Indiana Jones / Spielberg film when it came out, simply because of the title, "Raiders of the Lost Ark." I still hold that grudge, that burns like 1000 suns. I hated the RaiDUHs 40 years ago, I hate 'em today, and I'll hate 'em for as many years as I have left here on earth. (I finally saw the film on DVD ten years ago. I loved the film, but will ALWAYS hate the title.)
