Censoring Profanity

Ive been told that the fact we allow cussing is a bad look for us. Ive never really thought about it. I have been banned on forums in the past for cussing. But im wondering if it keeps us from getting more members.

Is that something this community would prefer? I can go either way. Obviously i would never ban someone for using profanity. But i was just thinking about censoring out a few 4 letter words?

Or do you guys like that freedom? I have always cared more about actions than words. And i dont think im a heathen for using profanity in my posts. lol

Just trying to see where you guys stand on this subject? Ive seen a few users on other forums say they could never be a part of this community because we cuss.

I dont care about those who dont want to be here because of that....im just wondering if those of you who do call us home would prefer that.

Whatever i can do to make our existing community happy i will do.

Sort of feel the same. It never even crossed my mind to censor in the past. But have seen a few guys say they wont come here because we allow profanity. Forum mods.

I was told that Joel Price checked us out and came away thinking we post porn. lol. Im assuming he was referring to some of our smiley pics. Selma etc.

I was once banned for implied profanity.

We were talking about alcohol, very casually.

"NFL."

As in No Fuckin' Lime in a bottle of Corona.

My post was pounced on within thirty seconds.

I was in the middle of typing a qualifying follow up post:

"NFL...as in No Freakin' Lime."

cussing is one thing, of which personally have never felt overly inclined toward, albeit the personal attacks suck.... when peoples take offense to your take, and come after you rather than the post.

You know thats always been kind of something we care more about. Its the personal attacks. I hope you havnt been attacked?

We really make an attempt to stop that sort of stuff. One of the only things we moderate.

I don't have a strong opinion about it. I cuss a lot in person in a joking sort of way, but try not to on a forum because it can come off as rude. But I lean towards no censorship and hope that people are mature enough not to abuse it.
