The guys has missed 55 out of 80 games in his career and played in 5 games over the past 3 seasons. We all know the talent he has but the chances of him getting hurt are so extraordinarily high that I would not waste a roster spot on him at the expense of another player.

If his base salary is small and its an incentive laden contract im ok with it. I like him matched up with Tyreek. But he has to make it to those games. With a pass rush like we have...the potential for an upgrade on the interior...and studs surrounding him, he could put together a good show me season. And then get paid. But he has to increase his stock. One year incentive based contract would be sort of nice imo.

I dont think he can stay healthy though. Nor Perryman. Even if we bring back Perryman we need to draft a MLB. Doesnt have to be in the first or 2nd as Thumper types are usually found as value picks. Takitaki in the 4th type of deal.

I hope we are wrong about both of them, but there is so little that suggests we are.

The only good thing is that I am not sure if either of them can get out of TC without being hurt, so if they are in a vet min type of contract (with some incentives), it really costs us almost nothing because we can just cut them or IR them and we get the roster spot back.

I'd let him go. He missed most of one year in college too. The poor guy has a fragile body.

I wish I could do that little and get paid that much. I go for only a zero sum guaranteed contract. Put it all in his back yard to perform.....

                  /agreed

Knee injuries and now an achilles... Those injuries rob you of that talent you used to have I don't care how old you are.

Is he injury prone? Definitely. But is he a talented play maker when healthy and on the field? Of course he is. So I think it comes down to price and what role we have for him. If it's a team friendly deal, perhaps we can utilise him in a part time role and utilise his skillset as a depth chart player that we bring on in certain packages. If we are confident his body is up for a full time role, fair enough, but in a part time/rotational role he could provide value if the deal is not excessive and low risk.

I'd love to see keeping him on a one-year, 'prove yourself' type deal. Not sure he'd take that.

Not sure he will have much choice. It will be a prove it deal of some sort somewhere.

Verrett will play somewhere next year. He has too much talent to stay unsigned. Get him here on a deal that recognizes his history.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
