Nick Foles is not being tagged by PHI and will be allowed to walk as a FA. He's got a Super Bowl MVP and proved a tough leader getting PHI into the playoffs 2 years in a row starting in place of injured Wentz. Who knows what his value is on the open market, but would he have been a better choice than Flacco if Elway was more patient?

Foles has pretty meh career stats and never played more than 13 games in a season over 7 year career. I wonder if he'll really be that special starting full16 games with a new Contract...

I would love to know if Elway wants his pick back. Of course part of the reason that Foles is available is that Denver traded for Flacco, which ruined the market for the Eagles and Foles. They weren't going to get a really high pick, but now they get nothing.
I am worried some about Denver, but it has nothing to do with their QB play. Their D is still a pain in the ass.
Before you read too much into how many games he has played, Foles isn't so much injury prone as just has been a backup most of his career. I know that may be the point, but still. Foles seems to be a system guy. Put the right people around him and in the right system, he might be the kind of guy who can get hot and be a reasonable starter. Doing that is a lot harder for teams to do than most people give credit to. Of course, are the Giants or Jags really willing to put in a zone read system with plenty of RPO's and some waggles and multiple backfield actions that Foles really likes? I know they think they do right now, but is Coughlin flexible enough to let Marrone do that? I give the Jags a 50/50 chance of being back looking for a QB next year, even if they land Foles (better than that if they fail to land Foles).
I agree in general that Foles is a better QB, but I think Elway wants to stick with the Kubiak/Shannahan system and do the outside zone, play action thing. Flacco is not horrible at it. Better than Foles is. But is either really a "BEST" option? Flacco still has some moments, but more than most QB he needs his supporting cast to be the playmakers. He is just the point guard.
