I think we should add another OTTO, but mostly because we need depth at OTTO and LEO. I don't think it is going to be very high. No higher than 4th and probably 5th or later. I really like the idea of drafting at least 1 pass rusher per year, and the OTTO and LEO spots are roster spots you can stash them at. I don't think it says anything about Nwosu, who I think is ready to take over the spot and continue in his role as a situational rusher.

It's hard to know what they are thinking when they sign guys like Perryman with his injuries. Part of it is I know the Chargers organization and the players (Verrett and Perryman) love both of them, and it is not going to help the overall moral to kick them out without a contract offer. Same with Mebane.

None of this really changes our draft priorities any IMHO. If one of the top LB is there when we pick, he should be in our cluster. There will probably be some OT and DT, but whether they are there when we pick remains to be seen. Let the draft come to us. Signing Perryman allows us to do that.

Looking at the Chargers draft class, it's likely they use some sort of threshold system since they didn't take a single player who measured more than a little below average. Both Forrest Lamp and Rayshawn Jenkins measured elite for their positions, and Lamp scores even higher if he is measured at guard or center, depending on his final landing spot.
      Interesting data find.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Guess this teams no CJ Mosley or KJ Wright....

I like Perryman but he's completely unreliable because of his injury history. I hope the $$$ isn't huge for this.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

        - 69-74 record
        - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
        - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
        - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
        - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
        - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
        - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

Has anyone heard the contract details? Hopefully minimum guaranteed with TONS of on field incentives.

Doubt it is on a 2 year deal factoring in his injury history.

2 year deal makes me think they learned the Donald Butler lesson

He did well. I expected around 5 per. I wonder what the base is and what is guaranteed.

Yes. And also I think Perryman and his reps were honest and fair about his inability to stay on the field and accepted the shorter deal. Says a lot about him and about this team.

Giving Perryman a two year deal at a reasonable rate is a good move. When he is on the field and healthy he is a play maker. The key for him now is to get healthy and stay healthy, obviously that will be a challenge based on his injury history with us, but fingers crossed he can get healthy and stay healthy because he can be an important player for us.

With that said, I think we will still be looking for a linebacker in the draft and perhaps free agency as well. I'm not expecting us to go after CJ Mosley in free agency, but a low to mid priced linebacker that can provide depth and cover would be a move I'd expect our GM to make. As well as looking at the draft for someone.

$6m per season is about the standard rate now for LBs of his caliber, that also have some questions... I like the two year bridge-type deal as well. Well done by TT.

This is a pretty good deal if he stays healthy. Insanity in open market right now
