- 69-74 record
- 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
- Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
- 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
- 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
- Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
- Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games
He has missed three games in the last seven years due to injury. He is getting up there in age, but he will be a good mentor to the younger LB's. A good signing IMO
I just walked in the door from the Marina. And after hearing the actual numbers im ecstatic. First of all his football IQ is off the charts. He is a coach on the field. 2nd of all Brown and Perryman are not built for the amount of snaps they get. They play with reckless abandon and it takes its toll. Both the guys need to be rotated out. The beauty of Davis is that he can play both weak and inside. At a high level still. I dont know that he starts over White but he is the perfect coach for White. Yes hes old but so what. He is a specimen. He reminds me a little of Donnie Edwards. I would have loved to keep Edwards around before he retired just so he could teach the younger guys and be that vocal veteran.
Every team needs a veteran like Davis to look up too. He knows how to get guys in position. He can break down whats going wrong and talk to coaches about it during the game. Hes just a really valuable asset to have on a team.
I think he will share the load at weak and move inside on money d with White at weak.
We signed a linebacker who turns 36 years old this month? Seriously?
Exactly what I was thinking, what was our problem last year slow LB'S that couldn't cover guys out of the backfield which burned us constantly for long yards, now we add more of the same. Sorry don't like it at all, imho it stinks !

You should probably do a little research on what type of player, regardless of age, he is. Davis is many things but slow isn't one of them. Slower than he was 5 years ago? Sure. Kyle Emmanuel slow? Not even close.
And welcome to TPB! Always good debate here. :stirringshit:

How do u figure he is slow? FWIW at 33 he was First Team All Pro. I would bet 10k he can beat Emmanuel in a 40 and would blow him away in agility testing. Absolutely he is in the twilight of his career, but he can still bring it, has great football IQ, and can really help White and Nwosu. My .02
