It's good signing. He's better than Geno.

For first time in a while I feel like if Rivers has to sit a few weeks we could still make playoffs. Geno and Cardale can move on

We may still get a developmental QB later in draft. Day 5? Did they add some rounds I didn't hear about

          Round meant rounds, not days.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

          - 69-74 record
          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

I like this signing. Taylor is an upgrade over Smith and one who could actually give the team a decent chance to win if Rivers ever went down. I am hoping that the team does not waste a draft pick on a QB this year. There is no need with Rivers wanting to play at least two more seasons and Taylor now signed for two seasons.

Didn't this guy lose his job to Peterman in Buf? Then on to the Browns only to be replaced by Mayfield? I get that Lynn likes guys he's familiar with, but nothing to get excited about here and there's likely better vet backups to be had.

I think most college QBs coming out are running RPO's. So while im fearful he may be thought of as a potential QB of the future...i think this allows us to possibly prepare for that style offense once Rivers is done.

At any rate it gives us a QB we can practice against that can run RPO's.

Interesting. I'm inclined to agree with the bold, but wouldn't be surprised if they picked a QB in the later rounds. They interviewed Will Grier at the Sr Bowl, and Brett Rypien and Easton Stick at the East West Shrine game. Maybe they like Grier and Rypien at 91 and Stick as a day 3 option.

Taylor has never been "the guy" . Everywhere he goes he's the gap bridge QB, but he has started 45+ games been to a Pro Bowl and has a 89 career rating. Those guys just aren't out there at a reasonable price to hold a clipboard behind a guy who's never missed a start. I like the move.

Always liked Taylor. Just needs some coaching.

Not sure Taylor has ever been sorounded with the talent we have now; if he ever needs to play.
                        I do like this signing.
Would like TT to signsa DL and FS now, to go to the draft with a BPA mind set.

Very happy. TT is definitely making this team stronger at weak positions, including backups.
