Our defensive line play has been underwhelming at times the past few seasons...I'll grant that wasn't Mebanes fault, but I was looking forward to moving in a more youthful direction. He will still provide solid play in the middle, and great leadership/mentoring. I was hoping that Jones would be stepping in there, however...and that we would bring back Liuget to mentor a blue chip 3-tech we pick up in the draft. That may still be the plan with both Mebane and Liuget the old dogs, Jones, Philon, and a rookie in the rotation. We'll see...

Not sure I'd classify TT as "killing it." The Browns are killing it. They're the ones acting like their franchise QB only has another couple of years left so let's go for broke. Looks like TT is banking on his guys coming back and staying healthy, which is a good start. But they also need to be effective.

That's because the Browns do only have a couple of years left before Baker gets paid. I would also hope that given the 60+ million they have, they would at least try to reach the floor that every team is required to meet.

Justin Jones is that 3-Tech. And I'm pretty sure he played 3-Tech last year when Liuget was out, essentially rotating with Philon on running down.

I think I'm fine either way. I was rooting for him prior but then he blew out his Achilles and it made me realize how foolish it was to believe that he could make a comeback. He's just too fragile to play in the NFL.

I hope he gave them a discount because he didn't play much last year for personal reasons and the team accommodated him.

I doubt we signed him to a pricey deal. As for the bolded part, maybe the team accommodated him because it was the right thing to do?

Exactly my point...I will concede that Jones might man that 3 tech at times, but thought he was the future inside...I only get redzone, so I don't get to see a lot of the plays, I just assumed Jones was rotating inside with Mebane a lot...if it wasn't him, then who was? Square?
