Now that we're getting settled in here, I wanted to explain to everyone why we decided to move. Fleet, feel free to add anything.
I'll start by thanking tcsokas for hosting us for the last decade, even longer for some of you. I migrated over from ESPN along with many of you and made thenflforum my football hangout on the internet. I will always be grateful for tc hosting the greatest Chargers forum on the web. I don't recall him ever asking a dime out of any of us. He's a class act in my book, and always will be.
However, in recent years, our membership began to dwindle. Sometimes members choose to move on or have other pressing obligations in their lives. Because of that, it is essential to have new members replace those who have left. Our forum has always been, and will always be, about a community of Chargers fans. That community must always be allowed to continue to grow, or over time it will just fade away.
Despite our best efforts, the changes we felt were necessary to continue on the nflforum were never made on our behalf. Other than tc, Redskins4Life was the only other member who had the access to make it happen; but he disappeared years ago with no appointed heir. We were powerless to make any changes ourselves.
The mods and I have been privately discussing the possibility of moving for over a year now. Recently, and unbeknownst to us, Fleet had contacted tc about selling the nflforum. TC stated that he just wanted out from under it. However, Fleet never received a response after that discussion despite repeated efforts.
So when Fleet breached the subject in a thread a few weeks ago, we talked it over and decided to pursue the possibility of moving. Rolling Thunder then volunteered to host this forum free of charge, so at that point we began building this place. FYI, you can see "powered by namecheap.com" at the top, that is RT's company. So if you ever need a domain or hosting, support your fellow Bolts fan!
So for the record, I have no ill will toward tc and didn't want anyone to think we were leaving because we were mad. We felt we had to do what is best for our members so that we can continue to grow. Onward and upward.
