    Last Years Record - Discussion

Telesco seems to follow the build mainly through the draft approach of GM's like Bill Polian and Ted Thompson, both of whom were successful at times but are now both unemployed.

We had an easy schedule last year so maybe the 12-4 record may have been magnified. We did get destroyed by a real playoff team in the end. Aside from that Telesco's record has been really middling. Overall he is just .500 over his 6 yrs here.

Putting aside injuries, we have generally been awful vs the run in recent years. NE ran all over us in the playoff loss. Every year we pine for DL help which generally gets disregarded by mgmt.

Again this year we are doing the same thing and expecting a different result. No DL added. Maybe the Thomas Davis and the LB being healthy will help. Maybe they will add an Impact DT. Or maybe none will occur and maybe again they will have injuries and again we will be awful.

Either way, Telesco has to be started to be held to account. If we do well and our run D is finally improved then good , he should stay. If not they should seriously start to look at his body of work.

    12-4 with a playoff win.

    Yeah, that account looks strong.

I don't give two shits if we give up 300 yards a game rushing, if we're a 12 win team the GM should stay.

TT is accountable for assembling a talented, deep, and productive roster. All moves perfect? No. Has he put together a quality team for the past few seasons? Yes. Health, coaching, playing/practice reps, and time to develop also play crucial parts to a players production.

We were not a real 12-4 team. A 12-4 team does not get destroyed 41-28 by NE in the playoffs. KC should have beat them in the SB. That was a real 12-4 team.

I was just saying our record may have been a little inflated. Did we really dominate like a 12-4 team? No.

Schedule was a little soft. Were we a 9-7 team the year before or do we say 10-6/11-5 due to fg kicking?

or do we just go back to the standard line of "you are what your record says you are"?

You line up, you play and you win, lose or tie. We did the right thing 12 times last year. I ain't gonna over think it.

We were not the first, nor will we be the last team, with a good win-loss record to get beat heavily in the play offs and/or Super Bowl.

The 11-5 Broncos got tore apart by the 14-2 49ers in Super Bowl XXIV. In Super Bowl XLVIII the Seahawks destroyed the Broncos. And in the last Super Bowl LIII, the prolific Rams offense fell flat against the Patriots, ok they weren't destroyed scoreline wise but they were convincingly beaten.

End of the day games like the Chargers and Patriots can happen. Sadly it seems to be a trend with our team with Rivers as quarterback. It's not all his fault, but we've blown at least two good opportunities in the Rivers era. So maybe you are right that we weren't a true 12-4 team, then again it might just be the case that we can beat people up in regular season, but when it matters in the play offs we choke.

Another strong possibility is that the Pats were cheating...again...

                        Bullshit. More bullshit.

You are what your record says, period. We beat KC, though I'm sure you'll say that wasn't "real".

We got our ass whipped by the SB champs in NE.

That doesn't negate the THIRTEEN wins we had.

What's next, we go back to being the best 1-4 team out there?
