He may be a top 3 coverage LB in this draft. There is no question his skillset and work rate. Its those injuries that concerned me. My first thought when i think of this guy is that i think he can cover a guy like Kelce. We may use him some at SAM with Bosa inside and Nwosu off the edge.
6'2 235# 4.5 40 3 cone on par with Devin Bush. This is a guy that can play sideline to sideline. I was a huge Takitaki fan for this role. Someone who can play inside and in coverage.
I think Tranquill can be a very simalr player to White as far as versatility goes. We needed a LB that can play otto and inside.
Again one of the better coverage LBs in the draft.
Great piece on ESPN on him. Called one of best leaders ND has ever seen. Graduated with Mechanical Engineering degree, 3.73 GPA. Very smart guy. Great community guy. Only thing holding him back is injuries.
Impressive. One of the hardest engineering majors, next to electrical engineering, but he definitely doesn't look the part! Hope he's on the yoga program as well .
Moved from Safety to LB. Hybrid type. Tore his ACL celebrating. lol
Wow...the Bolts better insert a "no celebration" rider into Tranquill's contract, or at least place limits on his celebrating:
"If said player celebrates a touchdown, sack, interception, pass defensed or other big play, or for any other reason, player shall refrain from leaving his feet, jumping, or any other acrobatic movements which may cause injury to himself or others. Celebrations shall be limited to a maximum of three light handclaps, and no high fives, low fives or any other contact with other players or objects. Penalty for violation of this celebration rider shall be forfeiture of up to 10% of total compensation package for year in which said celebration takes place."
The only thing that is not to like is the injury history. We kinda have the injury prone ILB market cornered already don't we?
Still, it would be nice to add a guy to replace Dzubnar.
I don't like it either. But remember that Teo had no injury history before becoming a Charger either. So it really depends. What gives me optimism about Tranquill is that he's already way ahead of a lot of rookies because of his detailed recovery regiment at Notre Dame. Read the article I posted in the first page. If he gets seriously injured, it'll either be because of dumb luck or genetics. The only thing missing is yoga for him.
