do you understand the difference between private citizens communicating with or conducting business with foreigners vs. government officials doing so in their official capacity illegally? As a reminder, there is no actual crime on the books called "collusion" and the only guilty pleas so far have been for process crimes like lying to investigators. Despite all the leaks and media hype, there have been ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH actual facts linking anyone in Trump's family or campaign to actually working with any Russian government bad guys with an intended goal of corrupting or swinging our election 1 way or the other. Clinton and the DNC on the other hand....

Eric Trump was heavily involved in his father's campaign - and so was Manafort. There's smoke "there" - it should be investigated. Most Americans agree.

        Prediction:
        Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

actually I think you're confusing Eric with Donald Jr. However, this doesn't change the fact that any dealings any of them had with "Russians" before Trump was actually a candidate are100% irrelevant to the campaign. The Mueller investigation was opened specifically to look for Russian govt representatives working together with Trump and/or his representatives DURING the campaign. That distinction seems to be lost on all the Trump haters. Not only is there no smoke there, there's no there, there.

            • Comey interview.... nothing new there, except that his family was all for Clinton, he acknowledged he leaked his "unclassified" memos to his friend to be released to the press (because he wanted to avoid the media circus of him doing it himself, and that he says the president is "morally unfit" to be the president. It just sounded like a disgruntled ex-employee that was fired for cause.

He seems very narcissistic, and wanting to do his judgement of what is the right thing, and was actively worried about his job.

              • I'm not a disgruntled former employee or a Democrat, and I agree that Trump is completely unfit to hold the highest position in our country. You don't gift a draft-dodger the highest rank in your military, among a whole host of other problems with this genuine piece of human shit. It's super comical that evangelicals are sucking this guy off too.

Yeah my bad. Donald Junior. BTW, Trump and Manafort's meetings were during the Trump campaign.

                  • Trump Jr had one 20 minute meeting with the Russian lawyer, yes he wanted 'opp-research', but got none, and has since admitted the meeting was probably a mistake. If she was a government plant, she wasn't very good at it, and was lobbying for future considerations about the 'ban' of russian children adoption. Smoke, maybe, but now just dirt.

Manafort did attend the meeting but seemed uninterested, and Kushner left the meeting after figuring out there wasn't anything there. Intent of doing a non-crime isn't worthy of a special counsel, in my opinion. The predicate for the start of the FBI investigation... the drunk guy talking publicly in a bar with a russian, is also specious at best, screened as a non-case as politically motivated if actual unbiased agents looked at it. It's the result of a now politicized FBI led by Comey and McCabe, who can't stop terrorists on our own soil after blowing off evidence of real danger.

exactly 1 short meeting they agreed to under false pretenses by the requester. Everybody knew about that- if there was a possibility of indictments from it- where are they? Manafort was indicted on several other charges from his business dealings from a couple years before Trump announced, but not for this 1 meeting. Isn't that a little strange if they really wanted to nail Trump with it? Kushner and Donald Jr. not indicted over it either. I don't think anyone believes criminal charges would hold up on that one meeting.

                        • Thanks for that info about Manafort, but he eventually got fired by Trump before crunch time. If the Russians made a deal with Trump through Manafort, it wasn't a good deal as Trump welched on them over Syria, killing 200 of their mercenaries earlier and making Putin and Assad look like cucks on Friday.

No one can deny that Russia tried to stir trouble in the election, but it looks like they were closer to the Clinton campaign than to Trump.

The only smoke is the dumpster fire of the collusion narrative.

Until Mueller exonerates Trump, you're going to have questions like "Why does Trump continually pull his punches wrt Russia?", and "Nikki Haley's response on Sunday was pretty forceful and clear. Why did Trump throw her under the bus and change his mind in less than 24 hours?"

This is an important part of the investigation as well. In the future, candidates and organizations (Republicans or Democrats) will now think twice about cooperating with suspected Russian operatives.

The problem is that the Rosenstein order did not include the Clinton campaign, leaving Mueller an out. The upcoming IG report may give a predicate to open another special counsel, and there is the Utah US Attorney investigation as well. In my opinion, the Chinese are more of a concern than the Russians in their potential ability to actually affect the election, and are more pervasive in their theft of intellectual property, but that seems like a third rail issue to the politicians and MSM.

                              • Maybe it's because the Russians hacked the Democratic Party servers and not the Republican Party servers. Just a guess.

The Dems probably used Kaspersky Anti Virus... lol. There is the issue of using unscreened Pakistani IT techs by Democrats in Congress as well.

                              • Comey notes are out in the wild. Seems like his recollection was that Trump wanted to Comey to continue his investigation into the Russian interference and on his staff, but also had an understanding that he himself wasn't under investigation, but wanted that info in the public. Comey said that he would have to refer that question to then acting Deputy AG Dana Boente.

Meanwhile, McCabe is calling Comey a liar. Comey is calling McCabe a good man, but a liar. Comey thinks himself is a good man, but also lies. The house of cards is close to being toppled...referrals to DOJ for Comey, McCabe, Lynch, Boente, Yates, and others who were involved in the dirty dossier. Boomerang.

Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. Julian Assange says he did NOT get his info from any Russian state actor. What we do KNOW for certain is Podesta got fished when he opened an email he shouldn't have, and that the DNC refused to allow the FBI access to their server to see who really accessed it and actually prove it wasn't an inside job. What were/are they hiding by doing that?
