David Letterman's Mom, Dorothy, who appeared on his show many times, passed away.

Dorothy Mengering, David Letterman's mother, or "Dave's Mom" as she was known to 'Late Show' audiences, "died peacefully" Tuesday at the age of 95.

        She was a hoot.

Sam Outlaw is coming back to South Dakota on May 5, but I can't go... my son is running at a track meet that evening. Bummer too, both the concert and the meet are in the same town. But the times just won't "mesh"...

His new album is streaming on NPR's first listen... It's really good.

Gonna see him June 1 at the Troubadour.
Just saw Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes the other night at the Whisky. Still a great band. Ritchie Sambora sat in for several songs. Wierd Deja Vu trip seeing them 42 years after seeing Bruce next door at the Roxy. That NJ sound is magic.

I remember her. She had a funny bit on Letterman.

Shit, man. Charlie Murphy died. Believe it or not, I'll remember his Chappelle bits on Prince and Rick James just as much as anything Charlie's brother did. And I really liked Eddie when I was young. Charlie Murphy could really tell stories. Of course, it didn't hurt having Dave Chappelle act out those stories.

Charlie Murphy - my second favorite Charlie.
