Yeah, and the Mexican team fans cheering him off the field. The ref is an American, by the way. The letter of the law on handballs say that any part of the arm is a handball, but it has to be intentional, (or avoidable), and he was fouled into falling into the ball, despite his upper arm touching. There should be a review of those calls in the penalty area.

I'm hoping that Jamaica wins v. Mexico. Jamaica has played the best of the teams in the tournament, but for some reason, I think they'll be CONCACAF'ed.

I also saw the fans throw a water bottle at the Panamanian player after they scored the goal to go up 1-0. Despicable. I told my son that at least in the NFL the violence stays in the stands (with the exception of the snowball fight in New Jersey in 1995).

I'm not a big soccer fan but my son started playing this year and he's really into it, so I've been watching a little with him.

Direct red card was a joke. Open hand glanced on his head....no elbow at all.
First PK was a complete joke. Unintentional touch AND he was fouled.
Second PK was legit call.....but after an uncalled penalty on the Mexican player. AND offside on the entry.

Geiger is a joke... He should never be allowed to do another international game. I am struggling to think of a match where it was as blatantly fixed by an official. CONCACAF is criminal. With the last two games that Mexico was GIFTED, does anyone believe this tournament isn't fixed to set up a USA MEXICO match in the fall?
Panama should have walked off the field and embarrassed the fuck out of CONCACAF. It may have cost them WC qualifying attempt, np but it may have helped force a well needed cleaning within one of the most corrupt regions of a thoroughly corrupt organization.

While I don't feel as passionate about it as this post, watching the game with no audio, this pretty much summed up my impressions. It seemed like I was watching a fixed game unfold before me.

I didn't see the game at all and don't know half of soccer terminology or what makes a penalty, but I know Mexico won fair and square.

I'm going to have a hard time choosing sides between Mexico and Jamaica. My wife's country vs. Jah people's island.

Panama deserved the game...they played a man short for 90 minutes. Costa Rica was robbed on that blatant flop/dive in the previous game. Mexico hasn't won a game except on PKs for 8 games except that blowout against the defection ridden Cuba. I noticed that half the stadium left... probably the American Outlaws and Panama fans right after that first PK. The Univision announcer said "Gooooooal de Mark Geiger". What a joke.

(BTW... Guardado was nails on the PKs. )
