This Team will be fun to watch

I would be shocked if this team wins over 70 games, but they should be interesting to watch. We all thought the team two years ago would make a possible playoff run, but that team went down in flames.

While we all know prospects flame out I believe Peller is building a Astros/Royals jr team here. We shall see how things unfold, but its nice seeing ownership invest in things like the draft and international market compared to flawed broken down veterans

I agree. I don't expect much this year but you can see the building blocks being set in place.

Renfroe and Jankowski are not yet big league hitters & I'm not sure Hedges will ever be a big league hitter.

These three will need to hit for us to be competitive in the coming years. I worry what this season will do to their heads. Hitting is kinda f'd up like that.

This being said, as a team, they're fun to watch and gritty as hell. The opposition will have to earn most of the wins against us.

Doesn't seem as if Renfroe is doing too badly at this point. He also hit well last year during his call up. I'm sure he'll have his tough times, but he's looking like he's not overwhelmed by it all either.

                    I'm not worried about Renfroe.

Renfroe will not reach his potential until he learns to take the outside pitch the other way more consistently.

Trying to muscle through an outside pitch is a young players mistake. Pulling an outside pitch generally equates to a ground ball to the best fielders on the field (SS for a RH hitter). Pulling an outside pitch gets a hitter around and not inside the baseball.

He went oppo a few times yesterday; he needs to be consistent with that before he can move forward.

With 2 strikes, he is an easy out far too often but again he is young and learning.
