Myers has taken over as our best player.

Ok. Was I right or what about Melvin Upton being our most exciting player? Dude stole home earlier this year and then, today, made one of the great over-the-wall homerun-saving catches. Baseball, especially the Padres, needs more of this.

Upton has really turned himself into a relevant player again.TBH, we might be blessed by the terrible contract. Under different circumstances we might trade him for a handful of magic beans. The contract, despite his resurgence, might not be enough to make him real trade bait. Thus, we might be stuck having him produce for us.

Jon Jay has a broken arm. So now we're down to three hitters and a closer. Can we petition the league for a 3-man lineup?

The Miami Marlins are finalizing a deal to acquire reliever Fernando Rodney from the San Diego Padres for Class A pitching prospect Chris Paddack on Thursday, two sources told Yahoo Sports, kicking off trade season a little more than a month from the Aug. 1 deadline. Rodney, who posted a 0.31 ERA closing for the Padres, bolsters an already-strong Marlins bullpen that includes closer A.J. Ramos and setup men David Phelps and Kyle Barraclough.
More magic beans. A-pitcher. Sounds lights out in A ball. But a long way from Majors. Win-later, if at all.Last edited by ArtistFormerlyKnownAsBKR; 06-30-2016, 01:48 PM.

A perpetual joke that keeps getting darker and darker. I'd say fire them all but we'd just get different numbskulls to replace them so who gives a shit which morons are running the controls for the Madres.
Next up, Wil Myers.
