Not at all in the first round. Later id rather have Mixon or McNichols.
I think you put too much stock in a 40.

Look at what Bell does in the passing game. He lines up out wide and in the slot. But Pitt motions him there or empties the backfield to get him mismatched. You dont have to do that with McCaffrey. He can be a legit WR that goes up against CBs and Safeties. And not just from the slot although i think thats where he will do the most damage. He has much better WR capabilities than Bell. He could easily be a 100 reception per year candidate. Then you factor in the need to reduce Gordons carries due to his fragility and you probably get McCaffrey over 8-10 carries a game to spell Gordon.

Im not in any way pushing for McCaffrey at 7. I would like to continue building the defense. But if we are picking offense at 7 i would think he has a lot of value compared to Williams and Davis.

But you have to know how to use him. Hes not a specialist. Hes someone you can keep on the field. My only hesitation with McCaffrey is durability.

Juilan Edelman type impact in the passing game with monster reception totals and 1000 plus yards. And an added bonus in the run game similar to a Devonta Freeman in Atlanta. Id take 100/1000 10TDs receiving and 135/600/5 rushing all day long. Mix in the return totals and he has a lot of value.

The key to Atlantas success this past season was misdirection and the use of the 2 RB. It really allowed them to play Chess while the defense played checkers.

Not really and I never have.
Hill is just a lot faster and I don't see McCaffrey blowing by people like he does, Though I think he is fast enough. Your compared him to Tyreek. Speedwise they don't compare is all. I also think McCaffrey may have a ego problem. For the first round I just don't like him there. Not at #7 anyways.
QB& RB at seven for me would be a bad pick.

I think what Fleet is trying to say is that you don't draft McCaffrey without a plan in place of how to get him 16 touches a game (run, pass, return) and keeping Gordon and Allen happy with their touches.

Im just not getting the 40 angle. I wasn't comparing speed or combine numbers. I was comparing impact and usage. Hill may have been a bad comparison because he would never be a full time RB if needed. So i was probably devaluing McCaffrey by comparing him to Hill. Hill is probably a successful version of Tavon Austin. Its hard to find someone in the league with McCaffreys unique skillset. To me he is 2 players. And thats a pretty good value. imo. Plus hes a monster punt returner. So Hill may be faster in a straight line. But the shiftiness measurable's are the same or very close. The vision McCaffrey has at RB isnt close with Hill. Apples and oranges.

I think he could be a smaller Leveon Bell type. He moves to RB when Gordon comes out. He moves back to WR when Gordon is on the field. Its a bad situation for defenses with Gordons ability in the passing game and Allen and Henry to account for. Plus next year Benjamin is gone. So you have his replacement on the roster with McCaffrey. You could even shift McCaffrey to RB and Gordon to the slot and teams are clueless. Like i said its a chess match. And with Rivers he will find the open player.

For me personally its exciting to think about all the possibilities. But like i said im hoping for defense. Im arguing the fact that McCaffrey just might be the most productive offensive position if we go offense.

Id rather draft McCaffrey at 7 than Davis at 7 and a RB in the 4th. Im not a Brandon Oliver fan. Im just not. And imo we need both positions.

Samuel in the 2nd might be a better option.

For everyone that wants defense at #7...what IF both Hooker and Adams are gone...what IF both Allen and Thomas are gone...what IF Lattimore is gone? No Garrett either. Then who do you go after at #7?
                    For Stinky-Jon-Wizzleteats....

When people are suggesting he's our #2 I just laugh. Or at least a viable one.

This is why im leaning McCaffrey. Id prefer we trade back. But if the Safeties are gone....im not sure what i would do. Im concerned about Allen. Many are expecting him to drop. I sighted Bamas poor record for DL. Thomas will be gone. And if the other option is QB i pray we take McCaffrey instead. I think hes just a safe productive pick that checks off a bunch of boxes.

Id rather have Barnett than Allen.

Okay: pick McCaffrey at 7, trade up to pick Barnett. Very TT.
