Why do the refs hate the Chargers?

Wtf was that play with Rivers getting shoved down after the play? How on earth is Floyd not a defenseless receiver?

It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.
    (a) Players in a defenseless posture are: [. . .]
    (2) A receiver attempting to catch a pass; or who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner. If the receiver/runner is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player;
    [. . .]
    (b) Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:
    (1) Forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him; and
    (2) Lowering the head and making forcible contact with the top/crown or forehead/”hairline” parts of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player’s body.”

Rivers was definately knocked down after that one play.

    whatevs.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

PR needs to earn back his elite status before the refs make this easy call on Cole.

So we are going to get jobbed by the refs every week and we just need to deal with it?

i thought that mixup with PR and Fletcher Cox was a good no call. PR was baiting him and did a Dennis Rodman impression to try and get 15. They fact that this situation and the Cox 'push' on Vick were both no penalized was correct.

    per Floyd's hit:
It wasn't dirty. Whether Ryans is fined will be interesting. I do not see how Ryans could have done anything different. He barely led with his shoulder....it was more his tricep. And these things happen so quickly.

    Ed Hochuli says hell no.

You clearly don't understand the rules. WTF does "it was dirty mean"? Ryans not being able to do anything different is completely irrelevant. Floyd being able to avoid or ward the coverage is relevant. Go read the first post again because you do not get it.

Now I am 200% against these rules they do nothing to protect the players and are a load of bullshit. That being said, rules are rules and I expect the refs to understand them and call the game correctly and fairly. We absolutely got jobbed on both of those calls.

I didn't think the hit on Floyd was dirty. Floyd had his head down after the catch, I don't know what the defender can do there save for diving at his knees.

The refs called a lot of PI on the Eagles. I don't think they hate us, they just missed a few calls.

didnt have an opinion on the refs one way or the other today. they missed calls and gave calls on both sides. definitely didn't feel any favoritism. rivers pulled a nice little ginobili on his flop. that was kind of funny.

I liked the one where they were whining about him tackling the defender on the Royal touchdown. Obliterating is a better word.

There were some reasonable posts on there. A few, at least. Other than the Hochuli Game, I can't remember a game where the refs actually, certainly affected the outcome of a Charger game. And don't mention the Holy Roller. The rule (forward "fumble" thing) didn't exist back then, I don't believe. In fact, wasn't it the Holy Roller that inspired the fumble rule?
    Adios

While the forward fumble rule did not exist back then, Stabler intentionally grounded the ball and that was a penalty and the game should have ended right there.
