Last weekend, Mailata got the chance to perform in front of all 32 NFL teams as an offensive tackle at a recent pro day in Tampa Bay, Florida where a number of other top combine snubs and international players showed off their talents as well.
According to NFL.com’s Gil Brandt, Mailata has a team visit every day of this week with Chargers hosting the behemoth on Friday. Mailata measured a hair under 6-foot-8 and weighed in at a robust 346 pounds with 35.5-inch arms. In the forty-yard dash, he clocked in at a very respectable 5.12 which looks even more impressive after Orlando Brown’s disaster performance at the NFL combine. Tack on a 4.67-second short-shuttle with 22 reps on the bench press and you have yourself an EXTREMELY interesting prospect.
