    Chargers Rookie Safety Derwin James Cleared To Practice

    The Chargers first round pick is ready to practice. Chargers first round pick Derwin James has been activated from the Non-Football Injury list and will practice today. James sustained a hamstring injury between OTA’s and the start of Training Camp but has been cleared to begin practicing and will make his Training Camp debut.
    Now that James is ready to hit the field the question becomes where does he line up on the field? He was primarily the back-up Safety behind Jahleel Addae in OTA’s but the Free Safety spot has been a turnstile in Training Camp. Rayshawn Jenkins has got the bulk of the snaps with the starters at FS while Desmond King and Jaylen Watkins have been shuffled in and out of that group as well. As of last practice, Addae had his first run at Free Safety adding another body to that group leaving a possible opening for Derwin James at Strong Safety.
