    Construction worker at SoFi Stadium tests positive for COVID-19

    The project to get SoFi Stadium in Southern California completed in time for the 2020 NFL season could have taken a major hit on Saturday. According to this report from Sports Illustrated, a construction worker at the site in Inglewood has tested positive for COVID-19. This is no small thing. California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a stay-at-home order back on March 19. This included the entire state outside of those deemed essential in the workforce. That initially included the project to build the new stadium for both the Chargers and Rams. Turner AECOM Hunt, a firm that’s running point as a general contractor for stadium construction, already sent non-essential workers home when Governor Newsom gave his order. The firm said that construction would shut down altogether if conditions deteriorated. That might now be the case. SoFi Stadium was slated to open last season.
