The McElwain era in Florida is over, according to FootballScoop. After losing their third straight game, Florida has decided to part way with head coach Jim McElwain. Despite starting the season 3-1, losses to LSU, Texas A&M, and Georgia have now left the Gators with a losing record this late in the season for the first time since November of 2013.In his three seasons with Florida, McElwain had a 22-12 record (16-8 in SEC play). He won the SEC East in 2015 and 2016 and finished those seasons ranked on the AP Top 25 (25th and 14th, respectively). While his teams won a lot of games, McElwain’s time with Florida will best be remembered for his struggling offense.
