Dabo Swinney suddenly needs to get creative to find backup quarterbacks on a team that once had two starting-caliber players at the position, and there’s even a scenario where the Clemson coach could have to put a punter under center. If it comes to that, Swinney is prepared for it. While speaking with the media this week, Swinney was asked about wide receiver Hunter Renfrow now being in the quarterback rotation with Kelly Bryant transferring and Trevor Lawrence banged up. He mentioned how even punter Will Spiers has been getting looks and “can flat out rip it.” He then ragged on Spiers for having nothing better to do, anyway. “He is a guy I will probably leave there. He doesn’t have anything better to do other than play 'Fortnite,' anyway,” Swinney said, via David Hood of TigerNet.com. “These punters and kickers don’t do anything.
