Miami WR Ahmmon Richards’ career reportedly over due to neck injury

The football career of Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Ahmmon Richards is over due to a neck injury, according to a report. The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Susan Miller Degnan reported on Saturday night that Richards will not be able to play again due to a disabling neck injury. Richards, who was viewed as a top potential NFL prospect, has not played since Miami’s opener against LSU. He was said to be out with a knee injury. It’s unclear when he suffered the injury. The junior had one catch for nine yards this season. He emerged as a freshman, catching 49 passes for 934 yards and three touchdowns (and delivering highlights like this one). Last season he had 24 catches for 439 yards while being limited by knee and hamstring injuries. Richards sent a few tweets on Saturday night after Miami’s comeback win over rival Florida State:
