Watch: Longhorns forgot to cover David Sills V on 60-yard TD

In a big conference battle against the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Texas Longhorns made a critical mistake leaving Mountaineers wide receiver David Sills V wide open for a 60-yard touchdown. The play came late in the first quarter, just as the announcers talked about Sills as one of quarterback Will Grier’s favorite targets. Seconds later, Grier dropped a dime right into Sills’ hands in stride on his way to the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown. Leaving a wide receiver open against a great quarterback rarely works out for the defense. It is made even worse when that wide receiver is the team’s leading target in every category. Sills has been a go-to weapon for Grier all season, and their connection is made even easier when things like this happen.
