All signs point to Tua Tagovailoa suiting up for Alabama’s College Football Playoff semifinal in a week. The Crimson Tide quarterback gave an update on his injured ankle, noting that he has started to run and work on his footwork. “I’ve been hitting on all cylinders,” Tagovailoa told ESPN’s Maria Taylor, via Brad Crawford of 247 Sports. “I’ve had the opportunity to run some. I’ve been able to work on my footwork a little bit.” Tagovailoa sprained his ankle during Alabama’s SEC Championship victory over Georgia on Dec. 1, but there never seemed to be any real doubt that he wouldn't heal in time to play against Oklahoma in the national semifinal. In fact, coach Nick Saban has characterized him as ahead of schedule, so at this point Tagovailoa has to be considered near certain to play.
