    Purdue Football: Evan Anderson Leaves Program

    The redshirt freshman leaves after a rough spring semester. Headed into 2019 there was plenty of opportunity for playing time at running back with the departure of DJ Knox and Markell Jones to graduation. Purdue’s most experienced backs in Tario Fuller and Richie Worship were coming off of injuries, so the backfield was wide open. Today it just became a little more wide open as Evan Anderson has left the program per Gold and Black Illustrated. Anderson came to Purdue as a promising back after rushing for 1,207 yards and 13 TDs as a senior at Collins Hill HS in Suwanee, Georgia. Unfortunately, he had a very rough spring semester and missed most of spring practice according to GBI: “His mother passed away,” said Purdue coach Jeff Brohm. “That set him back, that hurt him. It hurt all of us. It was a bad situation. We felt for him. He missed a lot of school, he missed a lot of practice.
