Jim Harbaugh attempted to downplay his recent comments about Urban Meyer that have ignited a media firestorm while speaking to reporters on Friday during Day 2 of Big Ten Media Days. During an appearance Thursday on The Athletic’s “The TK Show” podcast, the Michigan Wolverines head coach made pointed remarks about his former Ohio State Buckeyes coaching rival’s sordid history. “Urban Meyer’s had a winning record. Really phenomenal record everywhere he’s been,” Harbaugh said in part on the podcast. “But also, controversy follows everywhere he’s been.” Amid the fallout, Harbaugh made the argument that his comments were not all that remarkable, nor newsworthy, for that matter. “No context you should know about. I don’t think it was anything that was anything new or a bombshell,” Harbaugh said, via the Detroit Free Press . “It’s things that many of you have an understanding of or have written about.” Meyer’s programs of course were not immune to scandal going back to his days as head coach of the Florida Gators,
